  • Why use CocoSoy wax?
We choose to work with cocosoy wax for many reasons. We love that it's natural blend of soy bean and coconut meaning that our candles are 100% vegan, cruelty free and contains zero toxins which makes our candles environmentally friendly. Cocosoy wax burns cooler and more cleanly. It lasts longer than paraffin was candles and has a higher scent threshold. It will not emit C02 to the environment. Soy wax is also water soluble and is easy to clean is wax is spilt.
  • How to burn your candle?
Make sure to read all the safety instructions on the packaging and strictly follow them. It is important to burn the candle for atleast 3-4 hours when using for the first time to prevent tunneling (unused wax on sides of container). This will prolong the usage of your candle. Each time you burn your candle ensure the wick has been trimmed to approximately 5mm with scissors or a wick trimmer, to prevent your candle from smoking and your wick from mushrooming. Instead of blowing out a candle and creating a soot and smoke, use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame. Allow your candle to cool before relighting to ensure the candle burns evenly. Stop burning the candle when it is about 8-10mm to the bottom of the container. Do not place the candle next to curtains or any flammable products. Never leave a candle unattended. Keep away from children and animals.
  • Why does candle sweat?
Sweating (oil drops on surface of candle) in a soy-based candle is completely normal. As the candles go through fluctuation of heat and cold, most often in transport with airconditioning in car - hot inside the room or vice versa, this may result in the oils seperating from the wax. This won't have any effect on the way the candle burns and will fix itself. You can leave these as they are or gently wipe it off with paper tissue. Sweating is more common in hot weather.
  • Why is my candle smoking?
The primary cause of black smoke is an overly long wick. When a candle burns, the wax near the flame melts and the liquid is pulled up the wick to feed the flame. If the wick is too long, the balance of the fuel and heat will be off. This throws off the chemical reaction and can produce excess soot and smoke
  • Are the containers reusable?
When you're ready to reuse your container, carefully pour boiling water into a pot, and let it melt away the remaining of the wax. Wipe off the wax with a rag as it softens. Wash the glass with warm soapy water and repeat if required.
  • Why does my candle change colour?
There are many factors that change colour of the wax, especially after burning it. The main reason are the fragrance oils conatined in the candle, which change colour after exposture to high temperature. The oils containing vanilla are particularly sensitive. Discolouration of the wax has no affect on the quality of the candle or the strength of the fragrance.
